Imported from Input Error (UK)

While the Cave might still be creaking open, the grey memories of the two sessions from the 19-tape run of the GRAVE PROG sub-series, from which “Open Cave Mouth” lurked, are fading fast. A couple of standout points from that period include:

Ferndale Life, the first Woodland House after the move from Lansing, right next to where Meg from Gories' brother lived.
Transition from Dunn Blueprinting on Eight Mile (where the cover images for both tapes were drawn and printed on the clock) to an uber-stressed Global Crossing Repair job.
Post Y2K Detroit Life.
Peak of the Basket Case Era.
An untuned, unbranded cheap Soprano given to me by Speedy Tee’s Keith for $60.
Psycho Neighbor (opposite of Gories' bro), which meant loud jams were few and far between but still had parties, so "Open Cave Mouth" was probably recorded directly to a portable cassette recorder one overcast afternoon, for both editions.
A killer dollar store up the street that sold phone tape loop cassettes ten to thirty seconds long, so there was most likely another boombox recording the soprano sax and spitting it out to the other.
Edition of 9 or 11 because there were 5 fans, and the leftovers were to creep through the mail system to another outlander. I believe this was early Grux material packs, so the short tapes were probably direct from him in SF.

And that’s about all from the memory folder. Glad to say, over two decades later, I still have a soprano (now a nice Beuscher with a cheap, uber-bright metal knock-off MP) within claw distance at all times. While the EQ might be better, it’s still trim and grim. Very excited to have it be horribly reborn on the best label overseas, INPUT ERROR, among such TKO label jam company, and even more excited that the low-tech, low-edition audio of Michigan open space and closed mood dampness will continue for another 20,000,000 years.

THX, EWAN, soldier supreme.
